The Hot Bodies Lightning buggy has been around for a while and was always a good value buggy. Now we get the Pro Evo edition with some nice updates without a big price increase… does it work?

My first real race with the Hot Bodies Lightning 2 Pro Evo buggy and a 5th overall in the A final…
I arrived at Aghalee at about 8:15am once again blaming the weather forecasters for the lack of good weather as they had said (it was windy, cold and there were lots of threatning clouds in the sky). Practise started about 10 and I had a plan of action to try the different types of GRP tyres. After a couple of runs I noticed that the throttle seemed to have developed an interference problem – when I held full throttle the servo seemed to ‘twitch’ making the Pro Evo speed up and slow down. Not good considering I run a Specktrum 2.4GHz. I started swapping out the usual suspects – receiver, servo and made sure that my transmitter battery and receiver battery were fully charged. It didn’t sort it out! Someone in the pits suggested the switch so I started to swap it out but the first round of qualifying was underway. Changing the switch cured the problem but I had missed round 1 so needed rounds two and three to count.
