Schumacher Mi4cxl Build Review

Posted on March 5, 2012 by

In December 2010 I did a review of the Schumacher Mi4cx (you can see the review here) – I was very impressed with the car then and the Mi4cxl is the latest incarnation of the car. Chris Grainger, Martin Hofer and the rest of the team at Schumacher UK have been working hard to tick all the boxes for the new breed of touring car. The new car is an evolution, not a revolution, in that Schumacher have built on the already great CX platform which built on the Mi4LP before that.

The UMCC indoor championship review

Posted on April 26, 2012 by

As I write this we have just completed a very successful indoors series at the UMCC with a large number of racers and four different classes of racing and it has been very competitive once again. At the start of the season I put together a bit of a writeup (which you can see here) and I thought I would do a summary of the racing under the same headings as that post;

Schumacher BTCC 2012 Championship Rd 1

I don’t normally include news about the BTCC and BRCA championships but I think that everyone is watching both championships this year to see how the racing goes with everyone running 10.5 motors or lower.  I think it’s a good thing as it means the normal club racer who races week in, week out, with 10.5 will be able to follow setups and also see what a car that is equipped with the same motor as themselves is capable of.  The other reason for mentioning it is that Alan and a few other guys were over at Cotwolds for the race and Al ended up with a very good 8th place overall – bodes well for the rest of the year.

RCCAOI Rd 1 won by Alan Bickerstaff

Alan continued his winning streak today taking Round 1 of the RCCAOI four round championship. It was not without it’s drama with Stephen Hill putting in a fantastic first final taking the win. Normality resumed with Al taking the second and third final to take the overall win. So it was two Associated cars and Graham Kenny took third place with his Tamiya 417. A great days racing.

Alan Bickerstaff was today confirmed as the UMCC Pro-Stock champion with a perfect score winning every round with his Associated TC6 (and 6.1). Well done Alan – a top man in our sport!

Derek McCloskey wins overall 2wd Mod and 4wd Mod Indoor National Championship.This four round championship on two different surfaces proved a huge success!On overall points Derek takes the 2wd and 4wd Title on the first year of this new exciting series.With the new Cougar SV2 proving a great addition in the last round!

In addition to this just a week later Derek started his National title defence by TQing and winning all 3 A final legs at round 1 of the Irish national off-road championship.  Held at the superb astro indoor venue Naul co.Dublin Ireland, it a great start to the year for Derek and his Schumacher cars!
